Ice on doors and weather strippings presents a real problem to e.g. coldstores all year round.
In cold stores there is a constant frost influence which means that the door easily can freeze at the weather stripping when the door is opened. Besides the obvious damages to the door/weather stripping, increased freezing of the weather strippings can also imply that the doors cannot shut tight, which will result in an increased energy consumption in the cold room due to the large temperature differences.
In connection with sliding and swing doors, etc. the frost problems can also concern the slide bars, etc.
The problem does not only apply to cold stores but also gates and doors to e.g. car washes, etc. where there is a risk of freezing during the winter - or i.e. on the edge for rollers in water treatment reservoirs.
This can be avoided with a DEVI frost protection system!
By installing Deviheat heating cables into the weather stripping or on the slidebars of sliding- or swing doors the building up of ice is prevented efficiently.
Unproblematic function of doors, gates, slide bars etc.; simple and inexpensive installation; less cold loss from cold rooms; and no frost damages.
In connection with gates, we recommend Deviheat silicone heating cables. Silicone cables have a high flexibility and small diameter and can therefore easily be installed in the weather stripping. Furthermore, Deviheat silicone cables can be delivered in any length and are therefore easy to adapt to the individual task. For embedding in concrete, e.g. in connection with slide bars and swing doors, we recommend Deviheat DTIP.
In connection with gates in cold stores often the heating cable will be connected permanently. For other applications it is recommended to use an electronic thermostat with wire sensor, e.g. Devireg 330 or 610. Often an air sensor will be sufficient to control the system.
